Privacy.
Pedal Revival (“we” or “us”) is an independent, Michigan-based editorial project about old bicycles: their records, their details, and the stories around them. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit pedalrevival.com or contact us.
Information we receive
The website does not currently offer accounts, subscriptions, payments, a contact form, or an email signup. We do not ask visitors to submit personal information through the website.
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use that information to reply and keep a record of our correspondence. If you send us material for a possible story, such as photographs or details about a bicycle, we may also keep it for editorial review and recordkeeping. Sending material does not give us permission to publish it; we will address publication rights separately.
If we feature a bike you’ve told us about, we’ll ask before publishing your name, where you live, or the bike’s serial number.
Website hosting
The website is hosted by Vercel. When you visit, Vercel may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, including your IP address, request information, device or browser details, and approximate location derived from your IP address. See Vercel’s Privacy Notice for its practices.
The site’s fonts and images are served from our own site rather than from outside services. The one exception is video, described below. We do not currently use visitor analytics, advertising pixels, or nonessential cookies. We will update this policy if that changes.
Because we don’t track visitors across sites, the site doesn’t respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Embedded video
The homepage includes a video hosted on YouTube, a Google service. Until you press play, the page shows a still image served from our own site, and nothing is loaded from YouTube.
When you press play, the video loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). From then on, YouTube receives technical information such as your IP address and browser details, and may store information on your device, as described in Google’s Privacy Policy. If you would rather not, you can skip the video or watch it on YouTube directly.
Links to other sites
The site links to Instagram, YouTube and other websites. Those services have their own privacy practices, which apply once you follow a link to them.
How information is used and shared
We use information to operate the site and respond to correspondence. Vercel processes technical information to host and protect the site. Messages sent to howdy@pedalrevival.com are forwarded by our domain registrar to the email service we use, which stores them. We may disclose information if required by law or reasonably necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
We do not sell visitor information or use it for targeted advertising.
How long information is kept
We keep email correspondence and submitted editorial material for as long as reasonably needed to handle the matter and maintain appropriate records. Vercel retains technical information according to its own services and settings.
Questions and requests
Contact us at howdy@pedalrevival.com to ask about information you have sent us or to request a correction or deletion. We will respond as required by applicable law. Some information may need to be kept for legal or editorial reasons.
Children
This is a general audience website and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us at howdy@pedalrevival.com.
Changes
We may update this policy as the website changes. The date at the top will show when the current version took effect. We will update it before introducing subscriptions, payments, accounts, member garages, or other ways to submit information through the website.
